On Thursday, a federal judge has ordered the release from jail of Michael Cohen back into home confinement after finding that Cohen was returned to prison in retaliation for his plans to write a book about Donald J. Trump.

"And it’s retaliation because of his desire to exercise his First Amendment rights to publish a book and to discuss anything about the book or anything else he wants on social media and with others," so federal judge Alvin K. Hellerstein of Federal District Court.

Donald Trump's former personal attorney and "fixer" Michael Cohen is back in custody after violating the terms of his early release from jail. Cohen, who had been released from prison into home-confinement due to Covid-19 concerns, was seen visiting restaurants in Manhattan on multiple occasions.
