Equal Pay

Brazil's women's national players will be paid the same as male players for representing their country, Brazil's football association (CBF) has said.

All players will be granted the same daily and prize amounts for taking part in preparation periods and games.

Rogério Caboclo, CBF president, stated: "What men will receive at the next World Cup will be proportionally equal to what is proposed by FIFA. There is no more gender difference, as the CBF is treating men and women equally."

Three journalists have colour, Sohla El-Waylly, Priya Krishna and Rick Martinez, have simultaneously released statements announcing their departure from Bon Appétit's Test Kitchen after alleged racial discrimination. Krishna detailed her decision to leave the company in a post to Twitter, writing that even though she was told "that things were changing and that there would be a huge push towards diversity", including equitable pay, the contract she received was "nowhere near equitable, and actually would potentially allow for me to make even less."

Molly Baz and Gaby Melian have since voiced their support for their colleagues and said they would also no longer appear in Bon Appétit videos, with Baz stating that she had asked to be released from "the video obligations of my contract".

Melian released a statement to her Instagram, writing: "After weeks of negotiations, Conde Nast Entertainment is not meeting my expectations regarding the plans to have a more diverse and inclusive video program. For that reason I will not be signing a contract with them to appear in videos."

Bon Appétit editor in chief Adam Rapoport has resigned after a photograph of him dressed in "brownface" from the early 2000s surfaced on Instagram. Rapoport announced his resignation on Instagram, writing: "I am stepping down as editor in chief of Bon Appétit to reflect on the work that I need to do as a human being and to allow Bon Appétit to get to a better place".

After the photograph surfaced, BA Test Kitchen Sohla El-Waylly took to Instagram to speak out against publisher Bon Appétit and publisher Condé Nast, saying: "I've been pushed in front of video as a display of diversity. In reality, only white editors are paid for their video appearances. None of the people of color have been compensated". Many of BA's staff members, including Claire Saffitz, Brad Leone, Alex Delany and others, have announced on Instagram that they will not appear in any new BA video material until all their colleagues receive equal pay.
