After Dame Helen Mirren's announcement as Hespera, the divine foe that will face down Billy Batson, the Shazam sequel added Lucy Liu to its cast as Kalypso.

The Shazam! sequel stars Zachary Levi as the adult version of teenager Billy Batson (a reprising Asher Angel), who transforms into a superhero. David F. Sandberg is back as director.

Disney announced Friday that British actress Phoebe-Waller Bridge has signed on to appear in the upcoming fifth "Indiana Jones" movie alongside Harrison Ford, who's been wearing Indy's familiar fedora since 1981's "Raiders of the Lost Ark." The British writer-producer-actress created the acclaimed Amazon Studios dramedy Fleabag and was the showrunner of the first season of BBC America's Killing Eve.

James Mangold (Ford v Ferrari) is taking over directing duties from Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first four films in the franchise.

Paramount announced the studio would release a new movie in the Star Trek Universe movie on June 9, 2023. The studio did not announce a title or any other detail.

This will be the first new Star Trek film since the last instalment in the Kelvin-verse series, Star Trek Beyond, released in 2016.

Unveiled via star Tom Holland's Instagram account, the official title for Spider-Man 3 has been revealed to be "Spider-Man: No Way Home".

Spider-Man 3 is currently set for a December 17, 2021 release date, directed by Jon Watts and starring Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange.

Deadline reports that Chris Evans is negotiating a deal to reprise his Captain America role in the MCU in some form. Still vague if deal as completely closed but insiders say it's headed in that direction for Evans to return as Steve Rogers aka Captain America in at least one Marvel property with the door open for a second film.

Chris Evan, on Twitter, claims the reports are “news” to him.

The Warner Bros. announced today that Mads Mikkelsen had been cast as Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald in the third “Fantastic Beasts” film. Mikkelsen is no stranger to evil magic users, having previously played supervillain sorcerer Kaecilius in Doctor Strange.

Considering his filmography, Mikkelsen seems an excellent choice to play magnetic murderer wizard and magical fuckboy Grindelwald. Depp announced in November that he would no longer be playing Grindelwald after Warner Bros. asked him to step down from the role.

After months of delays due to Covid-19, Warner Bros. has decided to release its upcoming blockbuster Wonder Woman 1984 on its HBO Max streaming service the same day it hits theatres in the U.S., December 25. The sequel to the 2017 hit was originally supposed to be released in June, then moved to October.

According to a press release, the film will debut in theatres internationally on December 16.

MGM explored the possibility of selling "No Time to Die," the upcoming James Bond movie, to a streaming service on a $600 million deal. The movie was originally slated to debut last April, but was postponed initially to November and then to April 2021.

MGM took a $30 to $50 million hit as a result of the postponements, so far.

An MGM spokesperson stated: "We do not comment on rumours. The film is not for sale. The film’s release has been postponed until April 2021 in order to preserve the theatrical experience for moviegoers."

The "Jurassic World: Dominion" production will be halted for at least two weeks after multiple cases of Covid-19.

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson for Universal Pictures said that "due to our rigid protocols and to ensure that the safety and well-being of our entire cast and crew is paramount at all times, those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with. As a result filming has been temporarily paused and will resume in accordance with established safety guidelines."

The movie, the third film in the new Jurassic trilogy, had been scheduled for release June 11, 2021, but it has now been moved to June 10, 2022.

No Time to Die, the 25th James Bond film, had its release delayed until April 2, 2021. Supposed to arrive in April 2020, the movie release had already been postponed to November 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We understand the delay will be disappointing to our fans, but we now look forward to sharing NO TIME TO DIE next year."

The movie marks Daniel Craig's final appearance as British secret service agent, 007.

Tatiana Maslany has been cast as the title character of Marvel's She-Hulk series for Disney+. Maslany, who is known from Orphan Black, will be joined by Jessica Gao (Rick and Morty) as lead writer and Kat Coiro as director.

The third instalment in the "Tron" film franchise is going to be directed by filmmaker Garth Davis and to be starred, and produced, by Jared Leto.

The film will not be a direct sequel to 2010's "Tron: Legacy" and 1982's "Tron," and it is still to be greenlighted by Disney.

Leto said on Instagram: "I am so very excited and proud to confirm that YES - I will be starring in TRON."

Warner Bros. has removed 'Tenet' from its release calendar. Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi thriller was set to hit theatres on August 12 but the company cited "continued uncertainty," to vacate the date.

Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, said: "Our goals throughout this process have been to ensure the highest odds of success for our films while also being ready to support our theater partners with new content as soon as they could safely reopen,".

Variety reports that Warner Bros. is planning to restart production of Matrix 4 in July after production was forced to shut down in March. The cast has allegedly signed contract extensions, keeping them on hold until July 6. Matrix 4 is set to be released sometime in 2021.
