New York's attorney general Letitia James announced a lawsuit aimed at dissolving the National Rifle Association (NRA) over allegations that high-ranking executives, including longtime leader Wayne LaPierre, diverted millions of dollars for their personal use.
James said in a statement announcing the lawsuit: "The NRA’s influence has been so powerful that the organisation went unchecked for decades while top executives funnelled millions into their own pockets."
