Biden campaign announces $242 million in campaign funds, closing gap to Trump campaign

The presidential campaign of Joe Biden has announced that entering July that had raised $242 million in funds for the already running election campaign. At the beginning of April, the campaign had less than $60 million. With the increase in funds, the Biden campaign is closing in on his competitor Donald Trump who is running for re-election and has reported $295 million in July.

Multiple donors for the campaign of Joe Biden include the widow of Steve Jobs and outspoken philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs, the former Republican candidate for the governor of California Meg Whitman, the co-founder of Facebook Dustin Moskovitz and multiple others.
