S.S.C. Napoli

Naples city mayor Luigi De Magistris and Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis confirmed Thursday the city stadium would be renamed San Paolo-Diego Armando Maradona.
Maradona, forged a strong bond with the Italian club and its supporters during his seven-year spell between 1984 and 1991 when he won their only two Serie A titles - in 1987 and 1990 - along with the Coppa Italia and UEFA Cup.

Barcelona and Bayern advanced to the Champions League quarter-finals. Both clubs head to Lisbon to play each other on August 14 at the Estádio da Luz.
Playing at the Camp Nou, Barcelona qualified with a 3:1 win over Napoli, goals by Lenglet, Messi and Luis Suárez. Lorenzo Insigne scored for Napoli.
In Munich, Bayern confirmed their favouritism by beating Chelsea 4:1. Robert Lewandowski scored twice and created goals for Perisic and Tolisso.

It was expected to be a hard fought final between the two teams consistently at the top of Italian football in the last decade, and thus it happened: 4-2 was the final result on penalties after a goalless draw.
Napoli turned an initially disappointing season into its most successful one in six years by adding a new cup to their trophy room.
Napoli head-coach Gennaro Gattuso celebrated his first major trophy as a manager, meanwhile, for Juventus' Maurizio Sarri it was yet another missed opportunity to claim an Italian silverware.
