The Covid-19 related death toll in the United States has surpassed 350,000 on Sunday as experts warn of a post-holiday surge of infections.
During an interview with NBC, Dr Anthony Fauci said there were "no excuses" that vaccinations have been low, averaging at half a million people a day.
"We’re not where we want to be. We’ve got to do much better, but let’s give it about a week or two into January to see if we can pick up momentum that was slowed down by the holiday season," so Fauci.

Multiple broadcast news networks such as ABC and NBC have cut away from the United States President Donald Trump as he made remarks regarding the presidential elections on Thursday evening. With the vote count still underway when Trump faced the cameras, he made multiple unsubstantiated claims regarding voter fraud. The networks then made the decision to cut away from the screening.

During Thursday's town hall event, President Donald Trump refused to disavow the QAnon QAnon conspiracy theory. QAnon followers believe that Trump will save the world from a globalist cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophiles and cannibals controlled by the "deep state," including public figures such as Hillary Clinton, Tom Hanks and Pope Francis.
"I know nothing about QAnon. I do know they are very much against pedophilia," the president told NBC Town Hall moderator Savannah Guthrie.
Back in August, Trump voiced support for the QAnon movement, telling reporters that he appreciated their support for him and that "these are people that love our country."

NBC News confirmed that they would broadcast President Donald Trump's town-hall-style meeting from Miami on Thursday. The event will be moderated by Today show host Savannah Guthrie and the president will answers questions of Florida voters.
NBC did not explicitly say whether they had received a negative Covid-19 test result from Trump.
The presidential debates will start on September 29.
The first debate between Donald J. Trump and Joe Biden will be moderate by Fox News anchor Chris Wallace on September 29. C-SPAN's Steve Scully is set to moderate the second debate on October 15 and NBC's Kristen Welker will host the final debate on October 22.
The vice-presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Mike Pence will be moderated by USA Today Washington Bureau chief Susan Page on October 7.

Tina Fey, creator and star of NBC's "30 Rock", asked streaming platforms to remove episodes of the show that included blackface. Four episodes are in the processes of being removed from Hulu and Amazon Prime and are no longer available for purchase on iTunes and Google Plus.
In a letter obtained by Vulture, Tina Fey says: "As we strive to do the work and do better in regards to race in America, we believe that these episodes featuring actors in race-changing makeup are best taken out of circulation,".

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association and NBC announced next year’s Golden Globes' ceremony would happen on February 28, 2021, the date recently vacated by the Oscars. The event will have Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as hosts.
The organisers also stated in their press release: "To accommodate both domestic and international film and television productions, the HFPA will provide further guidance around eligibility, voting period and revised nominations announcement timing in the coming weeks.".
The production of NBC's show The Blacklist, like many other TV shows', came to a halt in March due to Covid-19. As filming became impossible, the producers decided to add animated sequences to the live-action scenes that had already been filmed of the season 7 finale. The actors of the show, among them James Spader and Megan Boon, have recorded the audio from their homes. The episode is airing on May 15.
According to NBC New York, the United States attorney general William Barr is planning on charging members of the Venezuelan government for their involvement in illegal drug trafficking. Besides other senior officials of the government, the president Nicolas Maduro is said to be charged. Further diplomatic sanctions will allegedly be implemented.
