The Finnish Valtteri Bottas is on the pole position of the Eifel Grand Prix, to take place Sunday at the Nurburgring race track in Germany. The Mercedes Benz driver celebrated his 14th career pole.

Bottas teammate Lewis Hamilton to start in second, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen in third.

After the qualifying, Bottas stated "It's such a nice feeling when you get it on the last lap! It was tricky today with a short practice and getting the tyres spot on."

Nico Hulkenberg will replace Lance Stroll for this Grand Prix at the Nurburgring after the Canadian missed practice on Saturday morning after falling ill.

The Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device has been developed together by engineers from Mercedes Formula One and the University College London as well as clinicians from the college.
