After a draw made on Monday, UEFA Champions League round of 16 ties are:

  • Borussia Mönchengladbach (GER) vs Manchester City (ENG)
  • Lazio (ITA) vs Bayern (GER)
  • Atlético (ESP) vs Chelsea (ENG)
  • Leipzig (GER) vs Liverpool (ENG)
  • Porto (POR) vs Juventus (ITA)
  • Barcelona (ESP) vs Paris (FRA)
  • Sevilla (ESP) vs Borussia Dortmund (GER)
  • Atalanta (ITA) vs Real Madrid (ESP)

The first legs are scheduled for 16/17 and 23/24 February, with the second legs on 9/10 and 16/17 March.

Juventus announced Saturday Andrea Pirlo as their new coach just hours after sacking Maurizio Sarri following the club's Champions League elimination against Lyon. Pirlo played four seasons with the Turin team, winning four Italian league titles, one Italian Cup and two Italian Super Cups.

Pirlo was appointed manager of Juventus' Under-23 side a month ago but has now signed a two-year contract to coach the first team.

Juventus have sacked Maurizio Sarri as manager after one season. The head coach signed a three-year contract last summer, after a year at Chelsea.

Sarri lead the "Vecchia Signora" to a ninth straight Serie A title, but the team was knocked out of the Champions League by Lyon at the last-16 stage, and lost the the Coppa Italia to Napoli.

The club released a statement thanking Sarri for "having written a new page in Juventus' history".

Manchester City and Lyon will face each other on the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. The game will be played on August 15 at the Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon.

In Manchester, City qualified with a 2:1 win against Real Madrid, with goals by Sterling and Gabriel Jesus.

In Turin, Juventus won the game 2:1, with two goals by Cristiano Ronaldo, but Lyon qualified on the aggregate result -- by having more away goals.

Juventus 2:0 victory against Sampdoria guaranteed the ninth consecutive Serie A title for the Vecchia Signora. 2019-20 season title is the 36th for Juventus and the first for head coach Maurizio Sarri.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal of the match, with Bernardeschi scoring the second. Ronaldo also missed a penalty when the game was already 2:0 to Juventus.

It was expected to be a hard fought final between the two teams consistently at the top of Italian football in the last decade, and thus it happened: 4-2 was the final result on penalties after a goalless draw.

Napoli turned an initially disappointing season into its most successful one in six years by adding a new cup to their trophy room.

Napoli head-coach Gennaro Gattuso celebrated his first major trophy as a manager, meanwhile, for Juventus' Maurizio Sarri it was yet another missed opportunity to claim an Italian silverware.

After being suspended on March 9 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, soccer in Italy is back with the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final between Juventus and AC Milan.

Cristiano Ronaldo will lead Juventus against an AC Milan without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with a calf injury.

The game, in Turim, starts at 19:45 (UTC).

Juventus players agree to take pay reduction of €90 million

Juventus on Saturday announced that they reached an agreement to cut their players’ and coach Maurizio Sarri’s monthly payments of March, April, May, and June 2020.

This agreement that will save the club €90 million was brokered by the defender Giorgio Chiellini with Cristiano Ronaldo agreeing to sacrifice €3.8 million.

The club stated "Should the current season's matches be rescheduled; the Club will negotiate in good faith with the players and the coach conditional increases of compensation according to the actual resumption and finalization of official competitions,"

Juventus soccer player Daniele Rugani tests positive for Covid-19

The centre-back player was tested positively for the coronavirus and stated that the is "fine". The Serie A started all by law required isolation procedures to further prevent the virus from spreading. This includes people who have come into contact with Daniele Rugani. This follows after all sporting events in Italy have been postponed until April.
