The Swiss parliament has approved the introduction of same-sex marriage. With Friday's vote, both chambers of parliament have now approved the "marriage for all" bill.

In all likelihood, however, the Swiss will have the final say: The conservative Federal Democratic Union (EDU) has announced a referendum on marriage for same-sex couples.
