San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg has stated that in the county only 10 percent of all hospital beds were available and morgue spaces are running out. As a consequence refrigerated trucks have been requested to store the bodies of people that have died from Covid-19.

Dr. Ken Davis, chief medical officer of Christus Santa Rosa Health System has stated that "In a hospital, there are only so many places to put bodies. We're out of space, and our funeral homes are out of space, and we need those beds. So, when someone dies, we need to quickly turn that bed over".
