Hunter Biden under federal tax investigation

The U.S. Attorney's Office has announced that it is investigating the son of the future president, Hunter Biden. Exactly what tax offenses the prosecution in Delaware accuses Hunter Biden of is not clear.

Hunter Biden stated in writing that he was taking the matter seriously, but was confident that a professional review would determine that he was not at fault. The prosecutor's office said it had made the investigation public only now to prevent it from becoming a campaign issue and influencing the outcome of the election.

Democratic National Committee announced Wednesday Joe Biden would not travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to accept the Democratic presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention due to concerns over the Covid-19 pandemic.

Biden will accept his nomination virtually from his home state of Delaware, and the other scheduled speakers will also address the convention remotely. The DNC announcement, in effect, makes the event all-virtual.

Biden told attendees of a virtual fundraiser Wednesday afternoon that he felt the move was "the right thing to do."
