Football superstar Tom Brady has added another impressive chapter to his hero story. With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he ensures a bitter defeat of the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

Quarterback legend Tom Brady has won the Super Bowl for the seventh time in his career and dethroned the favoured defending champion Kansas City Chiefs with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers won on Sunday (local time) in Tampa 31:9 (21:6) and are now the first team in NFL history to celebrate the greatest triumph in American football in their own stadium.

The Tennessee Titans vs Pittsburgh Steelers game has been postponed due to multiple Covid-19 cases. Multiple Titan players have been tested positive for Covid-19 and experience flu-like symptoms.

Titans coach Mike Vrabel has stated that "nobody's to blame. We're in a pandemic. This is a very unfortunate situation, but one that we're confident that we will be able to handle safely with the football team and the players' best interests in mind". The game will be rescheduled to a later point in the season.

Brazil's women's national players will be paid the same as male players for representing their country, Brazil's football association (CBF) has said.

All players will be granted the same daily and prize amounts for taking part in preparation periods and games.

Rogério Caboclo, CBF president, stated: "What men will receive at the next World Cup will be proportionally equal to what is proposed by FIFA. There is no more gender difference, as the CBF is treating men and women equally."

Germany's football federation (DFB) announced on Monday that fans can return to some German football stadiums in mid-September for the first round of the German Cup.

The DFB released a statement saying: "The third division, the German Cup and women's matches, the number of spectators... must be decided by each club in agreement with local health
authorities."

Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich was named Germany's Footballer of the Year for the first time in the poll organized by the specialist magazine "kicker". Hansi Flick, who led Bayern to the triple, was coach of the year.

The Washington Football Team has introduced the first black president in NFL history. jason Wright is a former NFL running back and takes over the position from Bruce Allen as Washington has parted way with him after the team fell behind expecations in the last season.

Jason Wright who is now also the youngest NFL team president stated that "I have always enjoyed building exciting new things and taking on the hard, seemingly intractable challenges that others may not want to tackle".

RedBird Capital Partners has announced its agreement to buy the XFL football league. The league has gone bankrupt before and the deal is still pending bankruptcy court approval.

Following the announcement of the deal the sale auction for the XFL has been cancelled. The acquisition is lead by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who has stated that "the acquisition of the XFL with my talented partners, Dany Garcia and Gerry Cardinale, is an investment for me that’s rooted deeply in two things: My passion for the game and my desire to always take care of the fans".
