Kamala Harris halts travel after two people linked to the campaign test positive for Covid-19

Kamala Harris will halt campaign travel due to two positive Covid-19 cases in people involved in the Biden-Harris presidential campaign. Harris tested negative as recently as Wednesday.

The two cases are a flight crew member and Harris' communications director, Liz Allen.

Campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon said, "Neither of these people have had contact with Vice President Biden, Senator Harris or any other staffers since testing positive or in the 48 hours prior to their positive test results."

Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov has resigned on Thursday to bring an end to the unrest following a disputed election. Protests had erupted after the October 4th election was won by parties local to Jeenbekov. There had been “credible allegations of vote buying remain a serious concern,” Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe said.

Jeenbekov said he was not clinging to power and that he refused to go down as a president who "allowed bloodshed and shooting on its people." Over 1200 people were injured in the protests between security forces and protesters.

Brazilian senator Chico Rodrigues is caught with cash hidden between the buttocks

Chico Rodrigues, Jair Bolsonaro's deputy leader in the senate, was caught by the Brazilian Federal Police with R$30,000 (€4,572) concealed between his clenched buttocks. The police raid Wednesday was part of an operation against the misappropriation of public funds for fighting Covid-19.

Rodrigues, a Senator for the state of Roraima, released a statement claiming "I have a clean background and a respectable life. I’ve never been involved in any kind of scandal."

Netherlands Minister of Health Hugo de Jonge announced on Tuesday that assisted suicide for terminally ill children under the age of twelve is to be legalized. He quoted a study according to which the new regulation will affect about five to ten children per year.

The study shows that "among parents and doctors alike, there is a need to actively end the lives of terminally ill children who suffer hopelessly and unbearably and who will die in the foreseeable future," de Jonge wrote to Parliament.

The Italian health ministry announced the country had registered 7,332 new Covid-19 cases over the past 24 hours, a record since the outbreak started. The previous record was 6,557 cases back on March 21.

The number of people in intensive care units with the virus has also risen from around 40 in the second half of July to 539 on Wednesday.

In recent weeks and months, various right-wing extremist chat groups by police officers have been uncovered throughout Germany. After Hesse and North-Rhine Westphalia, the first such case became known to the Berlin police at the beginning of October.

As it turns out today, Wednesday, not an isolated case. Once again a WhatsApp group, this time from Berlin police students, became known in which right-wing extremist memes and symbols were also sent to each other. Criminal investigations were initiated against the suspects.

Barron Trump tested positive for coronavirus during the time President Trump and first lady Melania Trump were sick. The White House initially said he had tested negative after both of his parents tested positive earlier this month.

The first lady said in a statement Wednesday that subsequent testing showed Barron had also come down with Covid-19 but had no symptoms.

French President Emmanuel Macron has announced a curfew for Paris region and several other French cities. Under the curfew, people must be at home between 9 pm and 6 am. If curfew is broken, people will face a fine of €135. The curfew will last for up to four weeks, depending on Coronavirus cases.

Other cities include: Rouen, Lille, St Etienne, Lyon, Grenoble, Montpellier, Marseille and Toulouse

NBC News confirmed that they would broadcast President Donald Trump's town-hall-style meeting from Miami on Thursday. The event will be moderated by Today show host Savannah Guthrie and the president will answers questions of Florida voters.

NBC did not explicitly say whether they had received a negative Covid-19 test result from Trump.
