Not wearing a mask on public transport to be a finable offense in New Zealand
Starting Monday, face coverings will become compulsory on public transport in New Zealand. Offenders can be fined either NZ$300 infringement notice or up to NZ$1,000 imposed by a court.
Health Minister Chris Hipkins said there will be an exemption for people with a disability or physical or mental condition and children under the age of 12.
