Former PM Theresa May Criticises Johnson's Brexit and Covid-19 Plans

Theresa May has taken a stab at Boris Johnson's government while speaking in The House of Commons on Wednesday. May, who had kept mostly quiet in the last months, said that Johnson's government had “rightly been focused on keeping people safe” but warns that “International air travel is necessary for trade. Without it, there is no global Britain. So instead of bringing in measures to close Britain off from the rest of the world, why is the government not taking a lead in developing an international aviation health screening standard, to save jobs and ensure that Britain is open for business?”

May also warned of security implications of a no-deal Brexit, demanding reassurance that the UK would have “access to the quantity and quality of data it currently has” such as air passenger name records as of 1 January 2021.
