New regulations for the security industry in Germany

Horst Seehofen (Minister of the Interior) plans to define new regulations with the change of responsibility for the private security industry.

A change of responsibility from the Federal Ministry of Economics to the Ministry of the Interior had already been agreed in the coalition agreement for the current legislative period and had long been expected by the industry. In particular, training, qualifications and equipment requirements are to be reorganized. The previous point of contention was the "guard register" that the Interior Ministry did not want to take over due to further weaknesses. In the future, the register will be the responsibility of the Federal Statistical Office.

I have been working in the private security industry since 2009 and switched to public transport security in 2017. In addition to this work, I am working as an expert for industry-related scientific work, as an author for security wikis and as a consultant. The development of security concepts, security standards and awareness concepts is a central theme throughout my professional career. In 2013 I completed my bachelor's degree in "Security Management" at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR). In my professional activity during his studies, I specialized as a security consultant for the hotel industry and worked as a consultant for emergency management. In order to further develop my specialist knowledge, I studied at the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences "Security Management" and graduated as a Master of Science with a focus on security awareness and building security management (security concepts). The focus of my master thesis was the profile direction "Business Continuity Management" with the development of emergency and crisis management models for public institutions. In 2017 I certified myself as "Expert for private security services" according to DIN EN ISO / IEC 17024. The English Magazine "The Professional Security Officer Magazine" described me as "one of the leading names in German security [...] with rapidly increasing international recognition" in May 2020.
