Chinese parliament approves national security law for Hong Kong

The National People's Congress passed a new security law for Hong Kong, which would make it a crime to undermine Beijing's authority in the territory.

The new law bans sedition, secession and subversion of the central government and allows China's state security agencies to operate in the city.
