SNAP requirement changes blocked by court

U.S. District Court Judge Beryl Howell ruled that the changes by the Trump administration to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can not go into effect. The judge called the new rules "capricious, arbitrary and likely unlawful". The Judge further expands and refers to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as a reason to block the changes. "Especially now, as a global pandemic poses widespread health risks, guaranteeing that government officials at both the federal and state levels have flexibility to address the nutritional needs of residents and ensure their well-being through programs like SNAP, is essential".
