Wanderson de Oliveira, the former Ministry of Health’s National Surveillance Secretary of Brazil, stated on Sunday that the actual number of Covid-19 infections in the country could be six times higher than the officially reported, totalling between 3.5 and 4 million cases.

During a webcast, Oliveira criticised the quality of the testing used in the country.

Oliveira resigned on May 25 over how President Jair Bolsonaro has handled the pandemic.
