After a year marked by countless achievements and a lot of challenges, we here at Pendect have decided to cease operations. This decision comes with a heavy heart and after many difficult conversations in the team. We truly believe that the current news environment needs a makeover, a fresh perspective and an open, community-sourced and diverse approach.

The former candidate for the presidential nomination fo the democratic party and businessmen Andrew Yang will join CNN as a political commentator following his dropout of the primary race.
The lawyers of the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange said that he's planning on calling a witness on the stand that will testify that Assange was offered a presidential pardon. The pardon was allegedly tied to Assange denying that Russia were responsible for the interference in the US elections. They claim that the offer was made by the former republican congressman Dana Rohrabacher who claimed to act on behalf of President Donald Trump.
The construction company owner Paul Pogue was pardoned by Donald Trump as one of multiple people. Beforehand his son and daughter in law donated over $200,000 to his presidential campaign since August. This stands in contrast to their previous donations which never exceeded $10,000.
The company released a blog post in which they state that they'll distribute free and discounted rides. The goal is to help people "exercise their fundamental right to vote" by providing reliable and affordable access to the polling sides. In order to ensure that people can be identified which are most in need of transportation Lyft is partnering up with various nonprofit organizations.
A new poll by Data for Progress found the democratic presidential nominee contender Bernie Sanders leads with 35%. This puts him at more than double the percentage points than either of his competitors Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and Joe Biden which all poll around the same within a possible statistical inaccuracy between 16-14%.
Following the introduction of a bill that would make vasectomy mandatory for men under certain conditions, the Republican Texas senator Ted Cruz tweeted " Yikes. A government big enough to give you everything is big enough to take everything...literally!". Ted Cruz is known for his conservative stand towards abortions.
In a CBS News interview, the former U.S. Ambassador to the Ukraine Bill Taylor made a statement regarding the conspiracy theory that Ukraine allegedly interfered with the U.S. elections in 2016. The conspiracy theory was heavily promoted by President Donald Trump, but following Taylor "no one [at the U.S. State Department] took it seriously".
Over 1,100 former officials of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) signed and published an open letter as a statement to events of the Roger Stone case. Following the previous events - Attorney General William Barr lowered the prison sentence recommendation for Roger Stone after Donald Trump tweeted about it - the DOJ alumni are calling for Barr to resign.
A new study, published by the medical journal The Lancet, concludes that a unified single-payer healthcare system would enable the US - currently being the country with the highest expenses per person worldwide - to save money and lives. Currently, around 78 million Americans have no insurance or "inadequate access to healthcare".
In addition to saving around $450 Billion annually, around or more than 68,000 deaths per year could be prevented according to the conclusion of the study.
Following the complete ban on abortions in 2019 in Alabama, the Rep. Rolanda Hollis introduced House Bill 238. While currently there are "no restrictions on the reproductive rights of men" the new bill would require men to undergo a vasectomy if he either turns 50 or after the birth of his third biological child. She argues that following the abortion ban, not all responsibility can be put on women. "Men need to be responsible also."

The democratic presidential nominee contender Bernie Sanders claimed at one of his rallys in Carson City, Nevada that his opponent Michael Bloomberg uses his private fortune in an attempt to "try to buy the presidency by spending hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars on TV ads".
